Internal Promotion
Chris Knott, currently a Multimedia Sales Executive in our Minnesota/Wisconsin market, has been promoted to Controller for the Company. Chris joined OMG in May 2021 and has done an exceptional job building relationships and effectively selling advertising to local businesses in the market. Chris has booked lifetime sales of $1.1MM since joining OMG, of which 38% was digital. This is pretty remarkable for someone that never worked in Sales prior to this role. During the interview process three years ago and a number of times along the way, we discussed and touched on the plan to have Chris transition back into a finance role, so it’s great to move this forward. It’s truly a win-win-win situation!
From October 2019 to May 2021, Chris worked as an Accountant I and Accountant II for Trane Technologies. Prior to that role, Chris was a Staff Accountant at the LaCrosse Tribune, a Lee Enterprise newspaper. Chris graduated from Winona State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance.
Chris will play a major role in this newly created Controller position as we continue to grow and scale OMG. We’re setting out to add more structure and resources to the finance division of our company to help drive efficiency and process improvement. Chris will continue to work from our office in Hudson, WI and will be reporting directly to me.
