We’re recruiting for a Marketing Consultant to help grow our business in Goodhue County. You’ll be responsible for selling our full suite of digital marketing solutions and print advertising products to local businesses. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of media sales experience and is driven to consistently develop new business to achieve goals and maximize earnings.

Editor

We’re seeking an editor to lead coverage and audience engagement at the Cannon Falls Beacon in Minnesota.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to put their stamp on a community that is hungry for high-quality journalism, is highly engaged with the newspaper and website and is actively seeking our content out online.

You would be joining a fun, progressive company that’s focused on publishing and creating engaging content to support both print and digital audience growth.  The editor will develop story ideas, cover stories, develop strategies to actively listen to the community and be ultimately responsible for the quality of the journalism that appears in print and online.

We’re seeking a journalist who thinks reader-first and understands how to approach stories for today’s reader, using formats and tools that tell stories effectively.  The ideal candidate has a strong news background but values community, lifestyle and things to do content and can transition with ease to any topic. You should be comfortable telling stories on numerous platforms, including newsletters, audio and be ready to get active on social media and build out our audience there.   

Some specific things we’re seeking

  • You should have 2-3 years of news experience.
  • Outstanding and well-rounded reporting skills that translates into tackling everything from government issues to people-oriented profiles.
  • A digital understanding on how to optimize content through SEO best practices, social media engagement and texting.
  • Ability to build relationships in the community that increases engagement and user generated content.
  • An understanding of print workflows and approaches to make the print reading experience a good one.
  • Hands-on, page production/layout responsibility.
  • Excellent editing skills with an attention to detail.
  • You’re proficient in content management systems, Google Analytics, social media tools and digital storytelling tools.

  • Superior organizational skills and able to juggle numerous priorities at the same time.

Position  is required to work from our Cannon Falls office and market.

Outside Sales Representative

We’re recruiting for an outside sales representative to help develop sales in Franklin and Chittenden County, Vermont. You’ll be responsible for prospecting and closing new business and managing the customer relationship post-sale.

Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of B2B outside sales experience. Effective with building business relationships in person.
  • Excel at building trust and following through to get customers maximum ROI for their advertising spend.
  • A drive for winning and achieving goals. You want to be on top of the scorecard each week.
  • Technology savvy. Our sales professionals have to understand the digital ecosystem to be effective selling
    digital products and services.
  • Solid work ethic. It’s an autonomous work environment. We have no interest in micro-managing to get results.

Growing local media company is recruiting for an Inside Sales Representative to join our team.   You’ll be responsible for making outbound calls to local businesses to sell our advertising and marketing solutions.

  Position Details:

·       Competitive hourly pay with commissions. 

·       Normal work hours—Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. 

·       Position is required to work from our office at 281 N. Main Street in St. Albans, VT.
